Lily Stewart

Lily Stewart is a fourth-year student pursuing a major in English, minor in Biology, and certificate in Medical Humanities. She is a member of the UC Presidential Scholars, NEXT Innovation Scholars (NIS) University Innovation Fellows, and University Honors Program.

Throughout Lily’s time at UC, she has sought out opportunities to combine her interests in writing, science, design, and social impact. She has worked as a researcher in the Department of English and at the Henry R. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions, studying both professional communication education and Cincinnati medical history. Recently, she has begun conducting strategic foresight research through her participation in NIS, investigating the future of healthcare, climate change, and misinformation. She also dedicates time to community organizing as the co-president of UC Generation Action, a student group dedicated to advocating for reproductive justice. Outside of school, she has held numerous jobs, including a technical writing position in the medical devices industry and a science communication role at a local nonprofit.

After graduating, Lily hopes to attend graduate school to study science communication and misinformation in order to promote science literacy and accessible scientific content for public audiences. In her spare time, she loves to read and garden, and she hopes to start her own backyard orchard someday.
