Lindner wins industry award for innovative teaching
OBAIS academic department recognized for advancing operations research and analytics
The Carl H. Lindner College of Business Department of Operations, Business Analytics and Information Systems (OBAIS) at the University of Cincinnati was awarded the 2019 UPS George D. Smith Prize for the department’s innovative approach to curriculum that effectively prepares students to be successful operations research and analytics professionals after graduation.
Named in honor of the late UPS chief executive officer, the UPS George D. Smith Prize was created by the professional development association INFORMS to strengthen ties between the operations research and analytics industry and institutions of higher education.
“For the 50 years of its existence, the Department of Operations, Business Analytics and Information Systems has been a point of pride for the Lindner College of Business,” says Lindner’s Interim Dean Nick Williams.
