A 2006 graduate of UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, Woods oversees the look and feel of the Facebook-owned app as Instagram's head of design. He's held the position since April 2019.

Before that, he was head of design for the core Facebook app, and has been at the company since late 2011 (Facebook bought Instagram in 2012). His previous work experience includes Boeing and design firm IDEO.

Woods was one of the first to graduate from DAAP's digital design program, introduced in 1996 with a focus on computer-based design, 3D modeling and animation, and interactive design.
