Enquirer: UC engineering grad appointed Cincinnati fire chief

Michael Washington earned a bachelor's degree in fire and safety engineering technology

Cincinnati appointed a University of Cincinnati graduate as the city's new fire chief.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Michael Washington, a 25-year veteran of the Fire Department, will take the helm as the city's new fire chief.

Washington earned an associate's degree in fire science technology and a bachelor's degree in fire and safety engineering technology from UC's College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Washington previously served as assistant chief of the department. He began in the department in 1991.
