UC s All-University December Commencement Ceremony
The University of Cincinnati holds its All University Commencement Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in Fifth Third Arena at Shoemaker Center. The formal procession into the Commencement Ceremony, which includes both graduates and faculty as well as administrators in full academic regalia, begins at 1:15 p.m.
Over summer and fall quarters there were 2,427 graduates that earned 2,437 degrees, including:
- 374 associate degrees
- 896 bachelors degrees
- 1,001 masters degrees
- 166 doctoral degrees
There were 94 degrees awarded cum laude, meaning the graduates had a university grade point average between 3.60 and 3.7499
There were 63 degrees awarded magna cum laude, representing a university grade point average between 3.75 and 3.8999
There were 51 degrees awarded summa cum laude, representing a university grade point average between 3.90 and 4.000.
The oldest graduate from the period of summer and fall 2006, earning an associate degree, is 69. The youngest graduate over that period, also earning an associate degree, is 18.
The number of females earning degrees, 1,269 (52.3 percent) is slightly higher than the males, at 1,158 (47.7 percent).
12.9 percent of the graduates reflect a minority group (African-American, Hispanic, Asian and Native-American).
8.9 percent of the graduates are African-American
14.8 percent of the graduates are citizens of a country other than the USA
59 countries are represented in the summer-fall graduating class
The graduates also represent 47 states plus the District of Columbia

UC faculty unveil startup platform to redefine NIL landscape

UC faculty develop new platform for students to track scholarship criteria and monetize their name, image and likeness (NIL) for branding purposes. Carbon Copy Assets will launch a mobile application where students earn badges and rewards for verifying their participation at campus events like career fairs, student club meetings and volunteer opportunities. Students will also prove that they are building job and life skills such as financial and legal literacy. A blockchain will record these activities, allowing donors and employers to view a publicly verifiable, immutable list of achievements.
