December 2007 All-University Commencement

The University of Cincinnati holds its All University Commencement Ceremony at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, in Fifth Third Arena at Shoemaker Center. Doors open at noon. This marks the third year for this special Commencement Ceremony in December to recognize the achievements of students who completed their degrees last summer and this fall.

Over summer and autumn quarters there were 2,761 graduates that earned 2,771 college degrees, including

  • 350 associate degrees 
  • 1,040 baccalaureate degrees
  • 1,153 master’s degrees
  • 228 doctoral degrees

There were 105 degrees awarded cum laude, meaning the graduates had a university grade point average between 3.60 and 3.7499

There were 94 degrees awarded magna cum laude, representing a university grade point average between 3.75 and 3.8999

There were 60 degrees awarded summa cum laude, representing a GPA netween 3.90 and 4.000

The oldest graduate, earning a master’s degree, is 64. The youngest, earning an associate’s degree, is 18.

The number of females earning degrees is 1,470 (53.2 percent).

The number of males earning degrees is 1,291 (46.8 percent).

13 percent of the graduates represent a minority group (American Indian, Asian, African-American or Hispanic).

8.5 percent of the graduates are African American.

13.3 percent are citizens of a country other than the USA.

The graduates represent 56 countries and all 50 states.
