Community Art Show Features Students Work from 10 Clermont County High Schools
An art show featuring the work of students from 10 Clermont County high schools will be on display at UC Clermont College, in the Park National Bank Gallery, beginning Friday, February 6.
Sponsored by the Clermont Art Guild and UC Clermont College, the show will include judging in multiple categories on Thursday, Feb. 5.
A reception will be held on February 6 from 6-8 p.m., it is free and open to the public.
Were excited to promote our local young artists, said Sally Fox, chair of the event. Our three judges are exceptional talents and present a wonderful opportunity for local high school students.
Judges include nationally recognized artist Mary Mark of Lost Steeple Originals in New Richmond, and regional artists Cindy Olmes, owner of Olmes Studio and Framing in Newtown, and Cathy Neff, a sculptress, with a studio in Batavia.
The 10 high schools participating are Goshen, Milford, Clermont Northeastern, Glen Este, Batavia, Williamsburg, Amelia, Bethel, New Richmond and Felicity.
The art work categories are: painting, drawing, jewelry, sculpture, print making and miscellaneous and the theme is Clermont Images.
The artwork will remain on display through March 2. Call Nikki Vargas, arts and events program coordinator at 558-1215 for more information.
The art gallery is sponsored by Park National Bank and located in the Snyder Building on the UC Clermont College campus in Batavia at 4200 Clermont College Drive. Hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. 7 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. 5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
