A Chic Peek: UC Fashion Students Take Garments from Thrift to Thrill

More than 50 students from the University of Cincinnati’s

top-ranked

fashion program will soon display “cents-ible” styles, runway garments made from thrift store finds.

That runway show will take place as part of the “Retrofittings” annual fashion show to benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a social-service agency that operates a charitable pharmacy, thrift stores, food pantries and more.

The project allows students from UC’s

internationally ranked

College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) to exercise creativity, improve their technical skills and receive a public venue to display their designs.

The event will take place at

6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13

, at the Hilton Netherland Plaza Hall of Mirrors, 35 W. Fifth Street downtown.
