UC Recognizes Business Achievement Among Alumni and Partners
As a way to highlight contributions to the business community, the Carl H. Lindner College of Business Board of Governors will recognize business alumni and partners whose leadership impacts the local business community and beyond.
Known as Cincinnatis longest running event recognizing achievement and community service in the business world, the Cincinnati Business Achievement Awards, now in its 27th year, features four honors for outstanding business achievement, distinguished service, business partnership and collegiate scholarship.
Thomas M. Nies, Cincom Systems president and CEO (BBA 62, MBA 68), will receive the Carl H. Lindner Award for Outstanding Business Achievement. This award is given to a graduate of the college with outstanding business achievement as defined by his/her entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to business and the community and achievement of the highest level of success within ones profession.
For their commitment to the Lindner College of Business, Thomas E. Mischell, senior vice president of American Financial Group (BBA 70), and Kirk L. Perry, president of P&Gs Global Family Care (BBA 90), will receive the Distinguished Service Award. This accolade recognizes contributions to the Lindner College of Business, the University of Cincinnati as a whole, and/or the Cincinnati community.
Fifth Third Bank will be awarded the Business Partnership Award for its substantial support to the Lindner College of Business and offering of growth opportunities for its students.
The Carl H. Lindner Scholarship recipient, chosen from the Lindner College of Business student body, is announced and awarded on the evening of the event.
Elroy E.Bourgraf, chairman of Ferno-Washington Inc. (BBA 54) and a 1997 recipient of the Carl H. Lindner Award for Outstanding Business Achievement, serves as honorary chairman of this years event.
