New UC Website Aims to Become a One-Stop Health Resource

UC Healthy Living Connection (HLC) is a new website offered by the University of Cincinnati through a partnership of campus programs, services and resources. The website is an effort to address the health and wellness needs of our diverse university community.

This centralized website connects students, faculty and staff to the multiple existing resources available on campus. The Healthy Living Connection website uses a multidimensional approach to addressing wellness. The Wellness Wheel concept, developed by Dr. Bill Hettler in 1976, offers a visual representation of the concept of wellness and the need for balanced living.

Through this concept, the website uses the following eight dimensions to achieve a balanced, healthy lifestyle: physical, emotional, intellectual, career, social, spiritual, financial and cultural. To neglect or over-emphasize any of the dimensions will result in an unbalanced life.

Visit the Healthy Living Connection at www.uc.edu/healthylivingconnection to learn about the health and wellness resources provided at UC.  If you represent an office that addresses wellness for students, staff or faculty, contact us to become a part of the HLC website.
