UC Clermont Women-to-Women Mentoring Program Seeks Participants
UC Clermont College is holding its annual leadership and mentoring program for women, focusing on developing leadership skills and providing academic support.
This program is sponsored by the UC Clermont College Success Program and links women students, faculty, staff, and community members with UC Clermont student mentees, and creates a community of women and a flexible support system. New women students and those seeking support should consider becoming mentees. Those with more experience and knowledge to share as a sophomore or higher level student, a faculty, staff member, or community member should consider becoming a mentor.
Program Details
This is a program targeted toward women students who would like a greater network of support to help them move through their academic careers here at UC Clermont or to aid in transition to a further academic program. It offers information, individual support, and the development of skills that will help students make the best use of their education, such as communication skills, assertiveness, and leadership skills.
This project, facilitated by a group of UC Clermont College faculty, staff and students, will run through UCs Spring Semester 2017. Mentees will be paired with mentors, and together they will create their own flexible agenda. Students can choose to pair with a UC Clermont student mentor or with a faculty, staff or community mentor. There will be a few meetings of the entire group of participants, where discussion amongst the group and with inspiring guest speakers can occur, along with mentor/mentee trainings, and community building. One final meeting near the end of the spring semester will finish out the formal project.
Both mentors and mentees
gain valuable communication skills
gain valuable leadership skills
develop new close relationships

For more information, or to become a mentor or mentee, please email your request for an application to Bernadette Dietz (faculty): Bernadette.Dietz@uc.edu
Please plan to submit applications by October 3, 2016.
