Ohio Supercomputer Center to Provide Two Workshops on Resources
IT@UC Research & Development will be hosting the Ohio Supercomputer Center for two workshops on Thursday, Oct. 13. These identical workshops will provide an introduction to the Ohio Supercomputer Center resources and how to use them.
The Ohio Supercomputer Center, headquartered in Columbus, partners with Ohio researchers to develop proposals to funding organizations and is the states leading strategic research group.
The morning session will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on East Campus in the Health Sciences Library Room of the Medical Sciences Building G005G. The afternoon session will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. on West Campus in 850-D Baldwin Hall. Laptops are needed if attendees want to participate in the hands-on portion of the session.
This one-hour workshop will provide an introduction to OSC services and is open to anyone who might be interested in learning about OSC resources. There are no prerequisites for attending this workshop.

High Performance Computing concepts
Introduction to OSCs HPC services
How to get access
Governance; how you can participate
Environment (operating system, connection methods, etc.)
Introduction to non-interactive computing
Data storage services
Scientific applications

His work in the field of gas turbine simulation and design continues to leave a significant impact on the industry. He was honored by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers with the International Gas Turbine Institute Scholar Award. Turner is part of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at UC.
