Memorial Service Honors Body Donors and Families

The annual memorial service for people who have donated their bodies for medical research will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the University of Cincinnati (UC) Academic Health Center.

The service will be conducted in Kresge Auditorium in the College of Medicine,

231 Albert Sabin Way, by faculty members and clergy from various faiths. Following the service, the donors’ cremated remains will buried in a Spring Grove Cemetery plot identified with the inscription, “Through Their Thoughtfulness Knowledge Grows.”

UC and its Body Donation Program hold the service to publicly honor donors, their families and friends. Donor names from as far back as the 1930s will be displayed at a reception in the auditorium lobby. Service participants will also be invited to drive to the burial site at Spring Grove.

Invitations for this service were mailed specifically to the family and friends of the donors who will be buried at Spring Grove on this date.  Although the service is free and open to the public, registration is requested to determine seating availability.

Parking in the

Eden Avenue garage will be free with validation from UC staff. The garage connects to the College of Medicine building via a skywalk over Eden Avenue. Directions from the garage to Kresge Auditorium will be posted.
