A few weeks after having a stent placed as a result of a heart attack, James Adams, 54, of Independence, Ky., began having trouble swallowing.  In February 2011, he was diagnosed with stage-3 esophagus cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes.

Lucas Named Chair of UC's Pathology Department

The University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees Tuesday approved the naming of Fred Lucas, MD, as chair of the department of pathology and laboratory medicine. He also becomes the MacKenzie Chair of Pathology. His appointment is effective July 1, 2012.
