UC Photographers Honored at Diana Walker Reception

A reception for the Diana Walker photography exhibit at the William Howard Taft Home, Auburn Avenue, is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, from 4-6 p.m. The traveling exhibit, produced by the Smithsonian Institution s National Museum of American History, Behring Center, features 83 of Walker s black-and-white and color photographs documenting key figures and events in American history over the past 25 years. Diana Walker was Time magazine's White House photographer for 20 years.

Lindner Families Donate $30 Million to Benefit UC for a...

A $30 million gift from the Lindner families will establish the Craig and Frances Lindner Center of HOPE (Helping Other People Excel) in the UC Department of Psychiatry and help build a behavioral health center in Mason, Ohio. The behavioral health center will be jointly operated by The Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and the Lindner Foundation, and staffed by physicians from the UC College of Medicine.

What's Nano at UC?

UC created its Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology to offer promise of ground-breaking advances in physics, chemistry, materials science, electronics and medicine. The institute was developed through collaboration among UC s McMicken College of Arts & Sciences, the Colleges of Engineering and Medicine, and the Vice President for Research and Advanced Studies. Many nanotechnology activities are taking place at the University of Cincinnati.

Brian Delany and Andrew Jandes will be the University of Cincinnati s first Scholar Fellows. The College of Business was invited to nominate students to be part of this unique and prestigious program.

UC Cancer Center Provides Free Prostate Cancer Test to 400 Men

UC s mobile prostate cancer screening program uses the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test to screen for prostate cancer in men. The program, which began two years ago, aims to raise awareness of prostate cancer among men living in traditionally low-income, urban neighborhoods who may not have access to regular health care.
