Statement on Safety & Reform

President Pinto's statement on healing

“Our thoughts and hearts remain focused on everyone affected by the tragic loss of Samuel DuBose, especially his family and loved ones.  More than ever, our University stands firm in our resolve to help our community heal, to treat all people with empathy and equity and to continue the voluntary police reforms we have begun.  I want to extend a special thanks to the members of our Community Advisory Council, and especially to Judge John West for serving as chair of this highly dedicated volunteer group, for working so diligently in moving forward our reform efforts.”
