UC Public Safety launches revamped website, including new Bearcat Information page
The University of Cincinnati Public Safety Department launched its new website recently, part of a university-wide transition to a new system.
Users familiar with Public Safety’s website will find most information in the same location, with a few minor changes. One exciting addition to the website is the “Bearcat Information” page.
Bearcat Information will include all “UC Safety Alert,” “UC Aware” and emergency notification messages that Public Safety sends out, in addition to “Local Information,” a new category of information that will contain relevant details regarding events of significant local interest that may be of concern to the UC community, but are not a continuing threat to campus.
Director of Public Safety James Whalen decided to add the page to the website after hearing concerns from the UC community when events occurred on or near campus that did not meet the qualifications of a Safety Alert or UC Aware, but that the community still found concerning.
“We wanted to give our community a place to find information about these events,” Director Whalen said.
The Local Information messages will be posted to the webpage, and on Public Safety’s Twitter, @UCPublicSafety. View the Bearcat Information page.
