UC offers Exploring Journalism Through Film series

Free admission includes film and Q&A discussion with Journalism Department Head Jeffrey Blevins

University of Cincinnati journalism students and members of the UC community are invited to attend the free film series Exploring Journalism Through Film at the Esquire Theater.

The series is hosted by the Department of Journalism in UC's McMicken College of Arts and Sciences and includes Q&A discussions after the screenings with Department Head and Associate Professor Jeffrey Blevins.

The second movie in the three-film series, "Shattered Glass," will be screened Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. The 2003 film tells the true story of a journalist who falls from grace when it is discovered that he fabricated more than half the stories he penned for The New Republic.

The 2017 Oscar-nominated film "The Post," starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, concludes the series. "The Post" tells the story of Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham and editor Ben Bradlee as they race to expose a massive coverup of government secrets during the Nixon Administration. "The Post" will be screened on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Esquire Theater.

The Esquire Theater is located at 320 Ludlow Ave. in Clifton. To reserve tickets, please visit theesquiretheater.com.
