Be Boldly Bearcat: Donate blood during all-campus blood drive
All donors get a limited-edition gift from Hoxworth
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati is calling on UC students, faculty and staff to be #BoldlyBearcat and donate blood during the UC All-Campus blood drive.
The University of Cincinnati all-campus blood drive will be set up in Tangeman University Center from Monday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 12. All donors will receive a free, limited-edition “Lifesaver” protein shaker bottle.
“It’s the start of the school year, and there’s no better way to start the year than to help us save lives in Cincinnati,” says Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “Every year, we are humbled by the great turnout from our lifesaving Bearcats during the UC blood drive. During our last all-campus blood drive, we collected over 700 blood products, and we’re hoping to break that record.”
The drive will take place in Tangeman University Center’s Great Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and a donor bus will be set up on TUC Commons on Friday, Sept. 13. Additionally, blood drives will be taking place at UC Blue Ash, UC Clermont and the UC medical campus throughout the week.
Donors can receive volunteer hours for their donation (one hour for a whole blood donation, two hours for a red cell donation and four hours for a platelet donation).
Appointments are highly encouraged due to the popularity of this event, but walk-ins are welcome. Schedule an appointment by calling (513) 451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org/groups/uc.
