University of Cincinnati College of Law bar results announced

86% of Cincinnati Law first-time takers pass the July 2019 Ohio bar exam.

Graduates of the University of Cincinnati College of Law recorded an 86% passage rate among first-time takers sitting for the Ohio bar exam, outpacing the statewide first-time pass rate of 82%.

The passage rate for all Cincinnati Law graduates sitting for the Ohio bar exam was 81%, exceeding the state-wide passage rate of 73.1%. Eight hundred eighty-five aspiring attorneys from across the state and the country took the July exam.

In addition, for those out-of-state jurisdictions that have release their outcomes, the Class of 2019 have recorded an 82% pass rate. Graduates earned a 100% pass rates in Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Washington and West Virginia.

Applicants who successfully passed the examination and who satisfied all of the Supreme Court’s other requirements for admission will be invited to take the attorney oath of office on at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 12, 2019, during a special session of the Supreme Court of Ohio at the Palace Theatre in Columbus, Ohio.

Local couple uses royalties from children's books to give gifts to kids in need

A local couple has found a unique way to give back to those in need this holiday season. Vic and Laura Troha wrote two children's books together, and this year, they are using the proceeds to buy Christmas gifts for Hamilton County foster kids. The couple are both graduates of the University of Cincinnati's College of Allied Health Sciences and met the day they graduated.
