FOX Business: UC student shares essay on construction management
College of Engineering and Applied Science student Danny Holstein shares his co-op experience with national audience
University of Cincinnati student Danny Holstein shared his experience as a construction management major in a first-person essay for FOX Business.
Holstein, a co-op student in UC's College of Engineering and Applied Science, said he fell in love with construction when he helped to demolish an old bridge at a construction site when he was 12.
"It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to work in construction," Holstein said.
Now he is learning the fundamentals of business, economics, business law and management to prepare himself for a career managing construction projects.
"Some people think construction is a dirty job," Holstein told FOX Business. "But that's far from the truth. The industry is changing. We have robots that can lay brick, drones completing jobsite safety checks, 3D-printed materials and other exciting, cutting-edge technologies."
Holstein previously spoke with FOX Business host Charles Payne about his co-op experience for construction companies in California and Florida. Holstein also belongs to UC's chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.
Holstein said construction management graduates at UC are in high demand in the workforce. He already has several job offers, he said.
