19th Amendment Centennial Exhibit makes its way to UC College of Law
The University of Cincinnati College of Law hosted a traveling exhibit celebrating the centennial of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
Titled “100 Years After the 19th Amendment: Their Legacy, and Our Future,” the exhibit was created by the American Bar Association Standing Committee on the Law Library of Congress.
The exhibit featured six banners complete with historic photos and artifacts, as well as information that details the battle for ratification and spotlights the challenges that continue to persist today. The purpose of these displays is to engage the community in discussions about equality and voting rights; this milestone anniversary can create connections between communities and campus.
This centennial showcase is sponsored by both the Nathaniel R. Jones Center for Race, Gender and Social Justice, and UC’s Robert S. Marx Law Library. The exhibit is part of the Jones Center’s programming to commemorate the 19th Amendment, which also includes a virtual panel discussion on intersectionality and a student-produced documentary.
