Blood donors needed during critical summer months
Hoxworth announces Holly Jolly July, special gifts for donors throughout month
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is calling on the Tristate community to make a lifesaving blood or platelet donation to help local patients in need during the critical summer months.
Hoxworth is in need of donors of all types and is offering special gifts throughout the month as a thank you:
- July 1-5: All donors who donate at any Hoxworth donor center receive a voucher for two free tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game.
- July 6-31: Holly Jolly July – All donors who donate at any Hoxworth donor center receive a $10 eGift card.
- July 10-16: Cincinnati Burger Week - Blood donors can earn 150 points toward Burger Week by donating blood during the week.
“The need for blood doesn’t take a vacation,” says David Oh, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Hoxworth Blood Center. “We often see traumas and other accidents during the summer months, which means we need to be prepared and maintain a healthy blood supply. We need our Tri-State community to come out and donate to make sure local patients have the blood they need.”
Additionally, Hoxworth Blood Center Blue Ash and Ft. Mitchell locations will be open on July 4 for all collections. All other locations will be closed.
Appointments are highly encouraged. Donors can schedule by calling (513) 451-0910 or by scheduling online at www.hoxworth.org.
