All blood and platelet donors who donate at any of Hoxworth’s seven Neighborhood Donor Centers and select mobile blood drives during the month of April will receive an exclusive Cincinnati Reds hoodie as a thank you.
“We’re thrilled for the return of baseball season and to offer our Cincinnati Reds fans exciting blood donation opportunities,” says David Oh, MD, chief medical officer, Hoxworth Blood Center. “We can’t thank the Reds enough for being such a valuable community partner and helping us strike out blood shortages throughout the baseball season.”
Hoxworth Blood Center and the Cincinnati Reds official partnership spans decades, resulting in thousands of collected units of blood from local donors. Hoxworth is excited to return to Great American Ballpark for the first time since 2014 for the single day blood drive on April 2 while also offering more opportunities for Reds fans to give back and receive exclusive Reds gear as a thank you by donating at any of Hoxworth’s Neighborhood Donor Centers during the month of April.
The blood drive at Great American Ballpark will be held on Tuesday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bally Sports Club. This blood drive is currently FULL with close to 300 participants registered to donate. Hoxworth officials and donors will be available for media interviews throughout the day.
Hoxworth needs at least 500 donors each day, including at least 60 platelet donors, to meet the demand of patients in local hospitals. Hoxworth’s seven Neighborhood Donor Centers are located in Anderson, Blue Ash, Clifton (Central), Ft. Mitchell, KY, West Chester (North), Tri-County, and Western Hills (West).
