Hoxworth honors community heroes
October donors receive special hooded shirt with powerful message "Blood Donors Save Lives"
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is encouraging the Greater Cincinnati community to roll up their sleeves and save lives this October. In recognition of National Heroes Day on Oct. 8 and the generosity from community donors, all blood and platelet donors who give at any Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Center or select mobile blood drives during the month of October will receive an exclusive, limited-edition long sleeve hooded shirt featuring the powerful message, Blood Donors Save Lives, while supplies last.
"Donors are the lifeblood of our community, literally!" said David Oh, MD, co-chair and director of Hoxworth Blood Center.
With the need for blood donations always present in local hospitals, Hoxworth is calling on the community to step up and help ensure that Cincinnati patients receive the lifesaving treatments they need.
Donors are the lifeblood of our community, literally!
David Oh, MD, co-chair & director of Hoxworth Blood Center
Every donation makes a direct impact on local patients in need, and this October, Hoxworth wants to celebrate that spirit of giving by providing a special thank-you gift to dedicated donors.
Donating blood is one of the simplest ways to make a difference, and by taking the time to give this October, donors will be directly contributing to saving lives in the community. Hoxworth Blood Center operates seven Neighborhood Donor Centers — Anderson, Blue Ash, Clifton, Ft. Mitchell, West Chester, Tri-County and West — as well as hosting mobile blood drives across the region. Scheduling an appointment is easy and can be done online at hoxworth.org or by calling (513) 451-0910.
"Whether you’re a regular donor or it’s your first time, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact," Dr. Oh added. "By giving blood, you’re not just helping one patient. You could be helping multiple people with just one donation."
Don't miss the chance to make a difference and walk away with a special thank-you gift. Visit hoxworth.org to schedule an appointment and take part in this lifesaving mission.
