Innovation unleashed! Moonshots, movies, and the quest for universal knowledge

Todd Ponsky, MD, discusses breakthroughs redefining how clinicians learn and deliver care

Healthcare is changing fast. With breakthroughs in AI, digital media and real-time education, the way clinicians learn and deliver care is being redefined. In this webinar, you will hear from a leader at the forefront of this transformation—Todd Ponsky, MD, Chief Innovation Officer at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, pediatric surgeon and founder of GlobalCastMD——someone who is not just observing the change, but actively driving it.

His journey began with a side project: creating better ways to share clinical knowledge beyond traditional hospital settings. Today, that vision has evolved into GlobalCastMD and its flagship product, StayCurrentMD, a mobile clinical decision support app that puts vital protocols, guidelines and clinical insights directly into the hands of healthcare providers—wherever they are..

Dr. Ponsky’s audacious goal? Providing free, point-of-care access to the most current, trusted and complete medical knowledge to every healthcare professional on the planet by 2035. That means moving away from memorization and outdated methods toward real-time, evidence-based support.

To scale globally, his team transforms core clinical content into accessible, engaging media like videos, infographics and even TikToks optimized for global reach. He is leveraging crowdsourcing, AI and next-gen media to disrupt the traditional gatekeepers and fix the broken systems of medical knowledge dissemination.

“Medical knowledge sharing is undergoing a revolution,” says Ponsky. “Institutions like Cincinnati Children’s are breaking down silos by opening up their clinical playbooks, so hospitals everywhere—even in resource-limited regions—can access validated, up-to-date protocols.”

But innovation doesn’t stop at new tech. Dr. Ponsky emphasizes the need to move beyond outdated research-to-market models and focus on frontline-driven solutions. While physicians and surgeons are increasingly embracing this innovation model, institutional hurdles still limit nurse-led contributions due to structural constraints.

“Collaboration is the future,” Ponsky adds. “We need open-door policies, psychologically safe environments and cross-border partnerships to build a more agile healthcare system. The ultimate vision is the democratization of medical knowledge — so anyone, anywhere, can learn, teach and deliver better care.”
