A Bearcats For Life Story

Being a Bearcat is woven into my identity.

I’m a third-generation Bearcat and the ninth in my family to graduate from UC. It’s where I met my husband, my best friends, and my most influential mentors — and where Cincinnati began to feel like home.

I came to UC as an 18-year-old unsure of my path, but the university — and the city surrounding it — gave me space to explore, to fail and try again, and to discover my strengths. Through classes, internships and student organizations, I gained hands-on opportunities to learn, grow and ask questions. My first industry role — a student internship in UC’s marketing office — showed me what I wanted to do with my career. It not only set me on that path but gave me skills and lessons I still draw on more than a decade later.

Over time, campus blended seamlessly into the rhythm of Cincinnati life — Saturdays at Nippert, evenings exploring new restaurants, celebrating milestones with friends who quickly felt like family. The city became more than a backdrop to my college years; it became part of my story.

The Bearcat spirit has carried into every part of my life: our wedding included UC touches, the first flag we hung at our home was red and black, and we’ve proudly held football and basketball season tickets — even flying back to Cincinnati for games when we lived out of town.

The University of Cincinnati isn’t just where I went to school. It’s where I built lifelong relationships, discovered my purpose and found a city that will always feel like home. It shaped who I am — personally and professionally — and it will always be part of who I’ll become.
