University of Cincinnati Celebrates National Graduate Student Appreciation Week Across Campus
The weeklong series highlights graduate student impact with pop-ups, giveaways, and skill-building
The University of Cincinnati Graduate College will celebrate National Graduate Student Appreciation Week with a series of events recognizing the innovation, research, and leadership of graduate students across campus.
National Graduate Student Appreciation Week is observed at universities across the country, and UC will celebrate from April 6–10, 2026. Throughout the week, the Graduate College will host pop-up events at colleges across both the West and Medical campuses, giving graduate students a chance to connect, recharge, and be recognized for their contributions to the university community. Graduate College staff will visit each location to distribute t-shirts, coffee mugs, and refreshments, offering students a moment to take a break and engage with peers.
Graduate students are the heart of UC’s research, innovation, and creative impact. Graduate Student Appreciation Week gives us a special opportunity to celebrate their hard work, dedication, and contributions to our campus and beyond.
Ryan White, PhD, Interim Dean of the Graduate College
Designed with busy schedules in mind, the pop-ups allow students to stop by between classes, labs and clinical rotations, making it easy to participate while continuing their academic and professional commitments.
In addition to the pop-up events, the week will feature optional skill-building and wellness opportunities aimed at supporting student success and well-being.
Newly added to this year’s programming are Green Dot Training and Mental Health First Aid Training. Green Dot Training provides participants with tools to recognize potentially harmful situations and take action to foster a safer campus environment. Mental Health First Aid Training equips participants with strategies to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental distress, connecting individuals with appropriate professional resources.
UC Online students can join the celebration too! They can participate in a daily online raffle throughout the week for a chance to win prizes. Students may enter once per day to increase their chances of winning. Winners will be notified by email, and prizes will be mailed directly.
Graduate Student Appreciation Week reflects the Graduate College’s ongoing commitment to supporting graduate student success and fostering a connected, engaged academic community.
