Amanda Newton

I started working at UC in 2022. Roughly a year and a half later I decided it was finally time to finish the degree I had started 18 years earlier. Not long after I started classes, my youngest son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. Suddenly, I was working full time, going to school full time while also balancing doctor's appointments, therapies, and hospital stays.

It wasn't easy, but my department supported me through one of the hardest times in my life. When I look back, I won't just remember earning a degree. I'll remember the people who helped me get there.

That's why I'll always be a Bearcat.
