Blevins teaches political science in UC’s School of Public and International Affairs. He also is a faculty fellow of UC’s Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy.

The event is free and open to the public.

UC will host a Veterans Resource Fair after the ceremony. Officials from service organizations will be on hand to help students and veterans with questions about benefits or to sign up for services.

UC College of Arts and Sciences student Deja Clemons will deliver a student address for the occasion as a U.S. Army cadet. She said she will talk about the service, sacrifice and opportunity involved in her enlistment.

“It means early mornings, late nights, and time away from loved ones,“ she said. “It means being challenged beyond what you thought you were capable of and finding the strength to keep going because you know your purpose is greater than yourself.“

Clemons grew up in Cincinnati and enlisted in the Army as a paralegal specialist in 2016. She was deployed to South Korea to serve wiith the 3rd Infantry Division. Now the mother of two is pursuing a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in organizational leadership and military science.
