Imagemaker Award Campaigns: Communication Students Time And Effort to Award Others
On Thursday December 5th, the Public Relations Campaign class teams from the Department of Communication presented their campaigns for the 2003 Cincinnati Imagemaker Awards.
The 13th annual Applause! Magazine Imagemaker Awards, first established at UC in 1989 by Sallie Elliott to celebrate and salute the positive contributions of African-Americans within the Greater Cincinnati area, now honor individuals from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds in the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan area. Those chosen for the award have proven themselves by their actions and accomplishments, significantly impacted the Community and Greater Cincinnati as a whole and demonstrate positive images of excellence and taken risks to contribute to the community. They also aspire to create awareness and acceptance of diversity.
Three groups of students from the Communication Departments Public Relations Campaign class spent ten weeks conducting research, gathering strategies and implementations, and using focus groups and survey analysis to create a meaningful action plan. The three groups were entitled Rainmaker, I.D.Ology, and Spotlight Solutions.
This years Imagemaker Awards will be held during the first week in March. The date and location are to be determined.
