New Certificate in American Ethnic Studies Offered
The Department of English is home to the new Arts & Sciences certificate in American Ethnic Studies. The certificate requires 30 credit hours of identified ethnic studies courses (10 courses). The certificate may be earned by any student in the University who meets the admission requirements of A&S and maintains an overall 2.5 G.P.A.
This Certificate responds to faculty expertise and student interest and is intended to enable students to participate in a multidisciplinary study of ethnic life in the United States in order to increase their knowledge of the world in which we live and to enhance their attractiveness to graduate and professional schools and corporations by earning a certificate in the subject. In addition to A&S, Colleges participating in this program are CCM, DAAP, the College of Education, the College of Medicine, and University College.
