Pulitzer Prize Winner Comes to McMicken
When poet Carl Dennis, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for
Practical Gods
, visits McMicken College as Elliston Poet-in-Residence, he'll have a full schedule. Dennis will be in residence October25-November 24, during which time he will teach a poetry workshop and give three public presentations.
Dennis has published nine volumes of poetry including the 2002 Pulitzer winner and his latest work,
New and Selected Poems
, 1974-2004. He is also the author of
Poetry as Persuasion: The Life of Poetry
. He recently retired from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he taught for many years.
