Statewide Award Honors UC Diversity Program
The University of Cincinnatis Racial Awareness Program (RAPP) is the recipient of the Cultural Diversity Award from the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA). UC was honored at the OCPA conference on February 3 in Worthington, Ohio, that drew participants from 42 Ohio colleges and universities. The OCPA is an organization that provides professional development and fosters partnerships among professionals who work in divisions of student affairs.
The OCPA Cultural Diversity Award recognizes creativity, innovation and success in making a significant contribution to understanding and appreciating different cultures. UCs students apply for consideration to join the Racial Awareness Program for one academic year. Regular meetings involve discussions and presentations to foster understanding among different cultures.
In 2004, RAPP was recognized with the Celebration of Diversity Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
