College Of Law Sends Off Class Of '05 With May 21 Hooding Ceremony

The UC College of Law will celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2005 when the college holds its 172nd annual Hooding Ceremony on Saturday, May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Aronoff Center in downtown Cincinnati. Approximately 125 students are expected to participate.

UC College of Law Interim Dean Donna Nagy will preside over the ceremony. Congressman Michael Oxley from Ohio's 4th District will be the featured speaker.

The Nicholas Longworth Award, presented by the graduating class to an alumnus they admire, will go to Judge Beth A. Myers, who sits on Hamilton County's Court of Common Pleas. A 1982 graduate of the college, Myers is also president-elect of the Cincinnati Bar Association.

College of Law professors Kristin Brandser, Mark Godsey and Verna Williams have been selected by the graduates to award the hoods. Professors Tom Eisele, Marianna Brown Bettman and Chris Bryant will also be recognized as this year's winners of the Goldman Prize for excellence in teaching.
