Nine Faculty Chosen to Receive Summer Research Fellowships

I am pleased to announce that the University Research Council (URC) has chosen nine faculty awardees from the URC Summer Faculty Research Fellowship competition. We received 26 applications for two months of summer stipend support and, in some cases, research support.

The awardees by college are:

College-Conservatory of Music

  • Michael Fiday, music composition

College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning

  • Rebecca Williamson, architecture and interior design

College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services

  • Keith Barton, teacher education

College of Engineering

  • Mingming Lu, civil and environmental

College of Pharmacy

  • Pamela Heaton, pharmacy practice and administration

In 2019, Munir Nazzal joined the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science as a professor in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management. Throughout his time at UC, he has received various accolades for his advancements in transportation research, including the UC George Rieveschl Jr. Award for Distinguished Scientific Research for 2024.
