Mark your calendars and join us for a Saturday of FREE fun-filled, family-friendly activities as UC Clermont College participates in the Fine Arts Fund Sampler Weekend on Feb. 21, 2009. All workshops and activities are free. Participation will be on a first come first served basis. Supplies and space are limited.
Join the Celebration at UC Clermont College!
Edible Art
Location: Snyder Building, Room S142
Join UC Clermont students, Marie Pollitt & Melissa Costello, for a book reading
of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Following the reading children
will make a special spaghetti with meatballs dish using sweet treats.
African Mbira Workshop-
Location: Snyder Building, Room S151
Musician and artist, Matthew Shelton, will lead this workshop with a history of
the mbira, or thumb piano, original Zimbabwean songs and a hands-on
demonstration for all in attendance. Suitable for ages 5+. Each workshop is
limited to 20 participants.
Face Painting
Location: Snyder Building, Art Gallery
Artist Jennifer Pilott, owner of Fabulous Faces by Jen, will create awesome
works of art using your face as the canvas.
West Clermont Dance Company Performance
Location: Peters-Jones Building, Krueger Auditorium
The audition-based high school dance company is back again to perform
student-choreographed numbers.
Collage Painting Workshop-
Location: Snyder Building, Art Lab, Room S153
Bring out your inner artist as UC Clermont professor, Kim Taylor, leads
this collage painting workshop. Suitable for ages 5+. Each workshop is
limited to 15 participants.
Solah Shringar-
Location: Snyder Building, Room S142
Learn the Indian ritual of Solah Shringar or The Sixteen Adornments,
presented by UC Clermont professors, Anu Chatterjee and Meera Rastogi.
Youll learn this ancient cultures traditions of beauty and will create your own
masterpiece through henna art and ethnic painting. Suitable for ages 8+.
Craft Corner
Location: Snyder Building Hallway
Join us at the craft table for a variety of family-friendly activities.
Community Art Show
Location: Snyder Building, Art Gallery
Enjoy a gallery exhibit of high school student works. Sponsored by the
Clermont Art Guild and UC Clermont College, this exhibit features talented
artists from local Clermont County high schools.
