UC Summer Programs Hold Opportunities for Kids and Adults

The University of Cincinnati is a state leader in building strengths in the high-demand disciplines of science, technology, engineering, math and medicine (STEMM).

UC’s summer programs demonstrate how UC is working to fuel a passion in the STEMM fields as early as middle school.

UC’s summer programs also hold opportunities for those with a passion for the arts as well as athletics – for young children and adults, including credit and noncredit programs. Check this page frequently as Web sites to more of UC’s 2010 summer programs become available.

College of Medicine Summer Enrichment Programs
Includes programs for middle-school students, high school students, undergraduates, post-baccalaureate students and teachers. Admission to all programs is by application.

Summer Surgery Experience for College Students
All application materials are due by March 18. Sessions are June 7-18 and June 21-July 2.

Summer Neuroscience Experience for College Students
All application materials must be received by March 18. The session is Aug. 2-13.

Research, Observation, Service, Education (ROSE) Program for Pre-Medical College Students
All application materials must be received by Feb. 15.

NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) in Membrane Science, Technology and Bio-Applications
Applications are due Feb. 15. The program runs June 14-Aug.20.

NSF Chemistry Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)
The 10-week summer research program runs June 14-Aug. 20. Application deadline is Feb. 28.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships
Undergraduate Summer Research Training Programs ranging from molecular biology to animal psychology and behavior. Applications are due by Feb. 15.

2010 Summer Undergraduate Research Training Program in Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Pharmaceutical Sciences
Applications due by Feb. 15

Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program for Women Undergraduates
Access application and recommendation forms. Applications are due March 1.

UC International Programs

UC International Arabic Summer Program in Morocco
June 17-27. Deposit is due on Feb. 15.

UC's Summer Program in Munich
June 14-July 16. A language immersion program that is recruiting between 12 to 15 students. Daily excursions in the city and into the nearby alpine region augment classroom instruction.

A&S Spanish Language and Culture Program in Madrid, Spain

Architecture Summer Camp for Rising 8th and 9th Graders This program in UC’s nationally top-ranked architecture program runs Sunday, July 18 - Saturday, July 24, 2010. Find out more and print out an application.

Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders
Presented by the Economics Center for Education & Research, this is a three-week summer program for high school juniors that runs from June 14 through July 2.

Upward Bound Pre-College Program
The program is designed to motivate and provide academic skills for eligible students interested in education beyond high school.

College-Conservatory of Music Summer Programs

Accent10:  Application deadline is April 12. The program is from June 11 to June 16, 2010. This is a Chamber Music and New Music Festival where participants perform alongside internationally recognized artist-faculty.
