UC Makes U.S. News List of Top Online Degree Programs
As online course enrollment hits an all time high nationwide, U.S. News and World Report released a new rankings report of online degree programs, placing University of Cincinnati among the top 40 schools on several lists. The College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Humans Services (CECH), home to five online graduate programs in education ranked 5th for admissions selectivity, and 36th for faculty credentials and training.

Online bachelors degrees at UC ranked 23rd for student engagement and assessment and 30th in student service and technology. Three of the six programs at UC that contributed to the ranking are within CECH: early childhood education, substance abuse counseling, and signed language interpreting.

The report rated schools with online bachelors and graduate degree programs in distinct categories, including student engagement and assessment, student services and technology, admissions selectivity, and faculty credentials and training. U.S. News ranked 196

and 523 online master's degree programs. Programs considered for the rankings have at least 80 percent of their course content available online.
The College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH) is home to the majority of the UCs distance learning students. CECH offers five online graduate degrees in education, including educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, and special education as well as bachelors degrees in signed language interpreting, substance abuse counseling, and early childhood education.
