The University of Cincinnati's
industrial design program, part of the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), traditionally requires undergraduates to incorporate three of five Japanese design elements into the construction of a chair cleverness, craftsmanship, compactness, asymmetry and simplicity.
