Preparing for Winter Weather at UC Clermont

Winter weather is here! There are many ways that you can check to see if our campus is closed. Please review the following so you will know where to look for information in the days and months ahead.

The local media will run our closing/cancellation status under the Clermont College heading. At times, we operated under different circumstances than our Clifton Campus. So please check the media listings under Clermont College for closure information. Please note that UC East is part of Clermont College – both upstairs and downstairs – we will not designate UC East separately – if Clermont College is closed – UC East is closed.

We will never “delay” classes. We will close campus if the conditions warrant and then open at a later time in some instances. So, for instance if we close the campus until 11 a.m. due to inclement weather – all classes that begin prior to 11 a.m. are cancelled.

We only post a notice if campus is closed. We never post that we are open.

So - how do you find out if we are closed?

Emergency Text Messaging
This is one of the easiest ways to find out first if we are closed. Sign up NOW!!! via OneStop (http://onestop.uc.edu/.html) and under "my information," select "change my address" and opt in.

Facebook
We will post closing messages on Facebook. Not a fan of our facebook page yet? Click here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Batavia-OH/UC-Clermont-College/53753811769

Website
When the college is closed, a special box will appear on our home page. A yellow highlighted text box will provide information. www.ucclermont.edu

If we are operating under normal conditions and business hours, our web page will have no emergency message displayed.

Local Media
They generally post the closings within 30 minutes of our notification but we have no control over how quickly this happens. So this should not be the first place that you look for info. The local media will run our closing/cancellation status under the Clermont College heading.

Front Desk
732-5200 – if we are closed we will post a message with the information on this number as soon as we are authorized to close. Check it. It is one of the easiest ways to get information.
