All Campus Winter Blood Drive Declared a Success

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati reports that the campus-wide winter blood drive last week was a success in spite of the flu season.The blood drive registered 774 individuals and collected 723 lifesaving blood products, enough to save 2,169 lives in the Tristate. The drive also recruited 215 first-time donors, says Alecia Lipton, community relations manager for Hoxworth Blood Center.

Approximately 775 President Ono bobbleheads have been relocated into the homes, offices and/or dorm rooms. All donors received the Ono Bobblehead as a special thank you for their donation.

The next all-campus blood drive will be held Monday, April 1,  through Friday, April 5.

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati was founded in 1938 and proudly serves 31 hospitals in 17 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. 

The university-wide blood drive is co-sponsored by UC’s Center for Community Engagement (CCE).
