Volunteers Needed for All-University Commencement Ceremonies

The University of Cincinnati will celebrate All-University Commencement on April 26-27 in three ceremonies:


Doctoral Hooding and Master's Recognition Ceremony

: 10 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2013


Baccalaureate and Associate Degree Commencement Ceremonies



9 a.m., Saturday, April 27

  • College of Allied Health Sciences
  • Carl H. Lindner College of Business
  • College-Conservatory of Music
  • College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP)
  • College of Nursing 
  • UC Blue Ash

2 p.m., Saturday, April 27

  • McMicken College of Arts and Sciences (A&S)
  • UC Clermont College 
  • College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH)
  • College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS)

Over the past few years, UC’s Commencement ceremonies have drawn growing crowds.  Plus, we are a record high for participating graduates. These ceremonies run smoothly with the support of the many volunteers from the UC community who join us in celebrating our graduates and their guests.

UC Commencement coordinators are again seeking volunteers from the UC community to assist with the ceremonies. The volunteering opportunities include assisting graduating students during line-up, directing families and students, assisting individuals with limited mobility, holding doors, assisting at reception that follows commencement, etc.

UC alum makes her mark in research, service

In 1960, as a young and eager statistician, Joan Reisch graduated from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences, and pursued a career in Texas at the Southwestern Medical Center where she’s held numerous roles as both faculty and staff. This year, Reisch was recognized for her career accomplishments and contributions with the Philanthropist of the Year Award by UC’s Alumni Association. This award is given to an alumnus who has been highly engaged in philanthropic activities with A&S, or has made a significant impact on the college.
