UC Clermont Offering Technical Training Manufacturing Boot Camps in July

UC Clermont College is offering manufacturing boot camps in July. The boot camps are one-week intensive training programs designed for rapid skills acquisition.

 

 

All manufacturing boot camps meet at the UC East campus, Lab A130, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon and 12:30-3:30 p.m. Friday is open lab day from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Lunch is from noon-12:30 p.m. on your own. For more information or to register: Visit

Machining Basics - July 8-12

Students will be introduced to basic machining practices and operations involving conventional machine tools. Concentration is on lathes and mills with some grinding. Students learn to utilize measuring instruments such as micrometer, dial calipers and scales. Tooling and setups are covered, as well as speeds and feeds, and basic materials properties.

 

CNC Level I - July 15-19

Throughout the CNC Level 1 course students will work toward writing, proofing and executing part programs for CNC machining. Students will be exposed to the following topics:

 

•  Cartesian Coordinates

•  Basic G and M Codes

•  Speed and Feed Calculations

•  CNC Control Overview

•  Basic CNC Program Structure

•  Work Coordinates/Tool Offsets

•  Proofing Part Programs

 

 

CNC Level 2 - July 22-26

In the CNC Level 2 course students will pick up where the CNC Level 1 course left off. Students will continue to write, proof and execute CNC part programs. Topics covered will include the following:

 

•  Overview of CNC Level 1

•  Use of Canned Cycles (Drilling, Tapping, etc.)

•  Overview and Use of IPS (Intuitive Programming System) or Conversational Programming

•  Overview and Use of Renishaw Automatic Tool Setter and Probe

Information Security Roadshow spreads awareness
