Extra Assistance Offered for UC Benefits Enrollment

Are you getting the most possible value from the benefit package at UC? Do you know which plans make the most sense financially for your family? UC’s Benefits Office has secured extra assistance for you.

“We know that picking the right benefits can be a challenge, so this year we are partnering with Hodges- Mace Benefits Group to bring in professional benefit counselors to walk you through the process,” said Elizabeth Aumann, UC Director of Benefits. “This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn about your UC benefits. It’s also your one chance to receive guaranteed issue of our new voluntary benefit options, including accident insurance and critical illness insurance, with no medical questions asked.”

Everyone’s health and financial needs are different, Aumann said. It is important to take the time and talk through your needs with a counselor to discuss which options make the most sense for you and your family. Affected employees can ask specific questions and get answers that are geared specifically towards their unique situations.

“After completing your enrollment, you should walk away feeling confident that you made the right choices and that you understand your UC benefits better than ever before,” Aumann said.

To schedule your appointment, visit http://uc.myannualenrollment.com  to reserve a meeting time that is convenient for you. Counselors will be available around campus to meet with employees in a private setting.

Aumann advises employees to be prepared for this meeting.

“Before your counselor meeting, be sure to review your benefit communication materials and write down any questions you have,” she said.  “You should also take the time to Humana.com registered user and have reviewed you and your family member’s claims prior to your meeting. “

Instructions on becoming a registered Humana member can be found at www.uc.edu/hr/benefits
