Volunteers Needed to Help Hundreds of High School Students Learn Life Lessons at Finances 101 Event at UC

CINCINNATI — One of the most difficult lessons for a high school graduate entering the “real world” is learning how to handle personal finances. The UC Economics Center and the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union (COPFCU) are pleased to sponsor the Northwest Local School District (NWLSD) Senior Finance Days in the Tangeman University Center at the University of Cincinnati on April 14 and 16. The goal of the event is to help set young people on the right financial path with an interactive game full of life lessons, “

Finances 101: Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk

.” And the Economics Center is looking for volunteers to assist the students navigate that path.

The NWLSD Senior Finance Days are fun and interactive days in which students will travel through a life-sized game board. Students will be challenged to think about and make important financial decisions on topics such as housing, insurance, transportation and taxes ... just like in real life!
