Gold Times Two UC Wins Top Honors in CASE Competition
The University of Cincinnati won two golds one a grand gold in the
014 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) annual awards
competition.
Nearly 630 CASE members around the world took part in this years international competition, which honors outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at colleges, universities, independent schools and nonprofits.
UC's Circle of Excellence competition winners are:
Grand Gold General/Short Video category
The video, titled Santa J. Ono, Bearcat, was created as a gift to UC President Santa Ono for his investiture on April 19, 2013. Produced by Cincinnati videographers Dustin and Nick Shell of Purpose Video in consultation with Investiture Committee Chair Ryan Hays and committee member Ben Hofstetter, it follows a fictional student in an online exploration to find out more about President Ono and who he is.
Gold Best Article (District III-V)
Advocating for the Innocent,
by UC Magazine Editor Deborah Rieselman, tells the story of the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) at the UC College of Law by focusing on the wrongful conviction of Clarence Elkins Sr. Serving seven-and-a-half years in prison after his conviction for the rape and murder of his mother in-law and raping his niece, Elkins was freed in 2005 based on DNA evidence. UCs OIP, supported by Lois and Richard Rosenthal, is the only Innocence Project in Ohio.
