CEAS Proudly Sponsors 2015 Innovation & Technology Awards

The UC

College of Engineering and Applied Science

was proud to sponsor, along with

Wood Herron & Evans LLP

, the

Cincinnati Business Courier’s

fifth annual Innovation & Technology Awards. Award winners were recognized at a ceremony held Tuesday night at historic Memorial Hall, 1225 Elm St.

The night began with a reception in the Green and Gold rooms as guests networked and discussed their shared interests: technology and innovation. Afterwards, attendees gathered in the auditorium for the award ceremony which kicked off with a few words from the emcee, Jamie Smith, Cincinnati Business Courier Publisher.

Smith said, “The Cincinnati region is teeming with innovation and entrepreneurialism-- qualities that are critical to the health and well-being of the region. The Innovation Awards were born out of our desire to recognize, support and celebrate innovation in our region. This year, we added a few new technology categories to recognize our best local tech companies and entrepreneurs.”

CEAS Dean Teik C. Lim, PhD, PE, Fellow (ASME, SAE), was opening presenter and announced several of the award winners. Dean Lim reflected, “As we position ourselves to be the Urban Research College, I feel that it is natural for CEAS to be here to recognize the outstanding achievements of local startups, entrepreneurs and lifetime successes in innovative fields.

Our college is already the destination for engineering excellence and with your help, we are embarking on our next goal—to become the center for entrepreneurship and commercialization. CEAS will encompass all aspects of the product lifecycle, from inception, to engineering design to enterprise. We won’t just take you from concept to reality—we’ll show you how WE ENGINEER BETTER™.”
