UC Clermont s Calico Children s Theatre Presents Summer Theatre Camp, June 8-13
UC Clermont College will again be offering Calico Theatre Camp this summer on campus.The camp is a fully-staged musical for young actors in grades K-12 (kindergartners must be entering first grade in the fall of 2015). Camp will take place June 8 to 13.
This seasons show title is Blackbeard the Pirate. The theater camp culminates in two performances open to family, friends and the general public. A complimentary workshop is included in the cost of camp. The theater camp is held on the UC Clermont College campus at 4200 Clermont College Dr., in Batavia, in the Krueger Auditorium.
The Calico Children's Theatre partners with Missoula Childrens Theatre to provide a fun and engaging theater camp. MCT is the premier internationally-renowned touring childrens theater program whose mission is to provide the development of life skills through participation in the performing arts. Scripts are structured specifically for the tours short rehearsal period and recognize the needs of the individual child. Major roles are large, complex and challenging; ensemble parts emphasize unison songs, actions and movements. There is an audition process.
Registration is now open. Specific roles will be determined at auditions.
Cost
The non-refundable camp registration fee is $115 per acting role and $60 per assistant director role. All that register are guaranteed a part (based on grade level availability).

Summary of this seasons show Blackbeard the Pirate: What starts as a lazy day at the beach, quickly turns into mystery and adventure when the search for Blackbeards treasure begins! Tales both past and present lead a group of beach bums to action in search of untold riches. Before our tale is told, a cast of colorful characters begin to reveal the secrets of Blackbeards amazing treasure. Can we trust a group of crabby Crabs or melodious Mermaids? Do the scary Seaweed Creatures or savvy Sailors know where X marks the spot? Will the precocious Parrots or cantankerous Crocodiles lead the way? And just who is Jolly Rodger and how does he know Sam the Clam!? Most of all, where has Blackbeard and his crew hidden their legendary treasure? Grab some sun screen, come on down to the beach and get ready to solve the mystery of BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE!
