UC HR Launches New Annual Enrollment Website

Learn everything you need to know about 2016 Annual Enrollment on the new

Annual Enrollment website

UC’s Annual Benefit Enrollment period begins Nov. 1 and runs through Nov. 30.  Take this opportunity to enroll in one of UC’s many benefit plans, or to check all of your current benefit plans.

You will make your enrollment elections in UCFlex via

Employee Self Service

.

What's changing?

Anthem will be our 2016 dental carrier; dental plan options and costs remain the same.  Find more information

here

.

Medical and dental plans will include FOUR coverage tiers rather than THREE.   The new tiers are:

  • Employee Only
  • Employee Plus Child/ren
  • Employee Plus Spouse or Domestic Partner
  • Employee Plus Family (Spouse or Domestic Partner and Child/ren).

We have ‘mapped’ your current coverage tier to your new coverage tier if applicable. For example, if you are currently covering your spouse only, your new coverage tier will be Employee Plus Spouse.  If you are covering yourself and your children only, your new coverage tier will be Employee Plus Children.    You can access ESS beginning on November 1 to review or to add/remove dependents.

The Spousal/DP Surcharge is increasing to $100/month for all employee groups other than AAUP, AFSCME and SEIU.  If you are currently paying the Surcharge, you may want to re-evaluate the cost and coverage of your spouse’s plan.  It may be beneficial to remove your spouse and choose Employee Plus Child/ren coverage.

The Wavier credit which is currently available to employees who waive UC medical or dental coverage will be eliminated for dually employed UC couples.  Other employees who waive UC medical or dental coverage will continue to be eligible for the waiver credit.

What's staying the same?

  • PPO and HDHP Medical plan design (e.g., deductible, co-payments, etc.).
  • PPO and HDHP Medical plan contributions*.  read about the new coverage tier here.  (*Monthly contributions are increasing for AAUP represented faculty.)
  • Dental Plan design and Dental Plan cost.
  • Flexible Spending Account enrollment maximums (you must re-enroll for 2016).

There is no change to Group Life, Long Term Disability, Personal Accident Plan coverage or costs.
